Philip Froissant is best known for starring as the male lead ‘Franz Joseph’ in Netflix’s smash hit original series THE EMPRESS, for which he was awarded ‘Best Actor’ at the 2023 German Television Awards.

The series became one of the most popular non-English series of 2022, with over 150 million hours streamed. Philip reprised his role in the second season, which debuted in November 2024 to critical and audience acclaim.

Philip’s further credits include leading the cast of the crime thriller series ONE TRILLION DOLLARS for Paramount+ in 2023, and starring in Netflix’s German-language feature film BLACK ISLAND, directed by Miguel Alexandre in 2020. He is next set to star in the upcoming German feature DER HEIMATLOSE, to be directed by Kai Stänicke.

Philip is fluent in three languages: English, German and French.
